Donn,
This may be jumping the gun but, about your upcoming Mag 1D HAIII hosts:

1) Are they bored to fit the FM 4AA carrier? If so...
2) Do they have the direct charger plug-in feature in the tailcap?
3) How long are they - total length?
4) What color are they?

I'm asking because fivemega said i can modify his 4x14650 carrier to a 4AA by shortening the center rod so it looks like I can go ahead with my 1D 4AA project.

thanks

They are quad-bored, to accept 4xAA cells. I've never tried the FM holder in them, but diameter-wise, they should fit.

2) Do they have the direct charger plug-in feature in the tailcap?

No

3) How long are they - total length?

Don't know. They are away being anodized.

4) What color are they?

One will be black and the other another yet-to-be-determined color.

Both will have finned heads and grooved bodies.

Donn,
Just a few more questions if i may: Were they machined by FM with a deep tailcap mod to make the battery spring sit into the cap deeper?

They were machined by CPF member Ledean, and to tell the truth, I don't recall if there was any alteration to the tailcaps. It doesn't matter, because a spring can be altered to fit deeply in a stock tailcap anyway.

Carl..since this discussion has nothing to do with this thread, I suggest moving it to email, rather than continuing to bump the thread.

Max voltage is 4.5V. You can run it on 3xAA cells, alkaline or NiMH with a holder available here, or with a single Li-ion C or D cell. You can also make an 18650 work with a shorter spring. C cells or 18650 will require an adapter tube. PVC works well.
