Has anybody ever seen the old self-made goose-neck flashlights w/ small batteries wrapped around the waist? My dad had one that he and my bro made together. Does anyone know what they look like? It had a 12" goose-neck lamp that was 3-4" dia. I'd like to know either how to make one or buy one.

Also, does anybody know what the brightest hand-held spot light is? I seen one on "Northern Tool" that was 25 million CP and burns for 45min on a single charge. Is that the most powerful there is?

I can't answer your first answer but I can tell you that the 25 million candlepower rating is greatly inflated(as in over 25 time inflated).

The brightest hand held light in lumen output that I know of it the Barn Burner (75 watt HID) but those are $1500 the last time I saw one for sale(they aren't made/modded anymore). There was another 175 watt "Handheld" light but it looked like a big gun and you carried the battery on your back. You could still buy a 50 Watt version. The furthest throwing is the Maxabeam. It has a true 7.5 million candlepower rating and throws for miles.

The best at a resonable price is the Sams Club HID, 35Watt(aka Vector HID or Harborfreight HID). or N30, 35 watt bulb under-driven ot 30 watt.

There are brighter Modded lights but those aren't usually on sale.
