custom portable led display

I'm new to this forum and have limited electronics knowledge, so am looking for direction more than specific answers to questions. I want to build a portable display where I can wire LEDs into that can have different settings (such as staying on all of the time or blinking in different patterns) I want to use a number of different LED colors and need it to be battery powered. If anyone has any advice on parts I need or books I should read then please let me know, thanks!

Nowdays, the LED display have many colors and can display text, pictures, vedio,etc and you can set the strting time and closing time. If you have any question about it, you may ask me. I can turn to our engineers
