Can anybody who is an expert in this or has the right software help with the design of a reflector for my LED light design. I have everything else figured out (such as the LED, wiring, heat sinking, power supply, etc...) but the reflector/optics are a challenge. I am using a brand new LED so the off the shelf optics and reflectors are limited (actually there are none so far). Therefore, I would like to build a reflector using mirror aluminum sheet metal.

I simply need somebody to give me the dimensions, etc... for an optimized design for what I want to do.

Of course, i would like to keep the reflector as small as possible but still be effective.

The LED is the new 10Watt model by RKI/Enerlight. It is 2.25" in diameter so already the reflector needs to be a little bigger than normal. In that 2.25" diameter unit, there are many small LEDs. The LED is rated to be 170 degree wide (+85 and -85 from 0). I need to redirect some of this light to bring it down to about 60-70 degrees total.

Can anybody help me with this? I am pulling my hair out and wasting my time trying things that aren't quite right.

Thanks!

Mike
