CW vs NW your thoughts.

I have thrunite t1 in both CW and NW
Thrunite t2 in NW and thrunite Catapult mini CW
and nite core hc60 CW?

Do yall have CW and NW flashlights?

Given the choice I generally prefer NW so long as the hits to output, runtime, and my wallet aren't too great.

Job specific - for inspections and close quarters work, I prefer warm or neutral.

Otherwise, cool for object rendering where color and fine detail isn't as important.

When I first started out with LED lights I was all about cool white but neutral/warm won me over after a fairly short time. My preference is 4000-4500k I guess but a lot of the cool whites are decent these days so I use them sometimes. General use outdoors is where I really want the warmer tint, indoors it doesn't matter as much unless there is a definite need for better color rendition.

I prefer WW for Indoor late night stuff and when getting color right Is needed, the CW Is good for ceiling bounce or throw out doors for me.

Ceiling bounce is better indoors than dedicated area lanterns IME and the cool whites do seem to work well for area lighting.

Indoors, I prefer warmer (~3700-4000K) for general use. Cooler is better outdoors in my opinion. I would love to see Luminus come out with SST-40 in the 5400K-5600K range, as close to BBL as possible, slightly positive duv and 85CRI ballpark.

Well since you didn't specify the light source, I prefer 3200-3400k incandescent
If we must mean leds, I prefer 4-5k even though my favourite led lights are definitely in the cooler region

To me this thread highlights how well CPF members police themselves.

There was a time when keyboard warriors went ballistic on each other over their favorite tint.

"3600k? You're stupid, everybody knows 3597k is the best".
"Well you are an idiot. 3600k is perfect"
3rd person chimes in…
"Both of you are morons, everybody knows 3612 is perfect"……

Today it's a live and let live thing. Bravo!
