I was treated to a classy steak joint the other night. Of course, it's rather dark, and the wait staff had little penlights to help see the wine flow while decanting it. When the steaks arrived, they recommended cutting it to see if it was done to our satisfaction, using their penlights. I, of course, had my small EDC, an Eagtac Ti D25A with my Nichia 219B 4k mod. Only high CRI can hope to show how well a steak is done, and their penlights seemed pretty dim but must've done the job for the others. I refrained from asking them about their lights.

Now that's a good use for a high CRI torch. I'd love to visit one such joint, it would give one of my 519A's a good use. I'm not particularly picky about the doneness of my steaks (whether rare or well done, beef is delicious all the same), but the confirmation would still be nice.
