I've really been looking for a good LE with a Cyan/Turquoise emitter. I've spoken to several of our modders, however it seems that only green emitters are available. Does anyone have a source for good cyan/turquoise emitters?

What Nascar said! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Has anyone even seen a Lux III cyan that was in the cool turquoise tint as opposed to the green or blue/green hues?

I think Lumileds is trying to get the Cyans to lean towards green due to market demands (i.e. traffic lights). Though it seems like it would make more sense to get the green emitters to trend more towards cyan, or to just have a seperate product line specifically for the traffic light market.

I have a small stash of real 505nm Cyan Lux III's. S2J's. They look awesome. I've been trying to get a real cyan color luxeon of anytype for a long time, and now I have them! I wish I had time to mod them. I will in about 4 months, but I hate waiting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif The source I got them from just had them, and snatched them up. I haven't been looking any in a while, but I imagine if these exsisted, then it's possible for more to exsist elsewhere.

NO YOU CAN'T HAVE THEM!! MUAHAH! MY PRECIOUS!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad71.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/touche.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/duh2.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twakfl.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon8.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd like to comment that these aren't the 495 blueish looking light, but a true aqua seafoam color. Still, it's the lowest color binned cyan I've seen, and in a high flux, low Vf luxIII package to boot.

I have a 5W green that is TRUE green. It's not traffic light color, and it's not yellow-green led color (I've seen 5W green's in a yellow-green color). When I compare the two side by side, the Cyan looks light-blue, and the true-green 5W looks yellow!!!!

I wonder if the people that have hookups and can specify one paramater (color, flux, etc) could do the same with colored leds?? They'd have to buy a lot like they do with the white leds, but I'm sure a ton of people would want color 1-2 binned luxIII cyans...

Isaac,
Thanks! It's nice to know that they at least exist! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don, no problem. I've been trying to get a real cyan colored luxeon since around the time the 5w's came out. Now I just need to find a T1HC and run it in a *ag2D w/bb1000 on 2D's. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drool.gif

tyler: IMHO bin 4 (probably even 3) isn't good enough for cyan. I bet 5 and 6 look really green.

My 5W green is a V2T, so I guess a 4-6 binned green looks yellow-green like the old school green LEDs.
