D6 MAGLITE

Hey guys,

I have an old maglite with 6 D Batteries,i want to change it but also to use those 6 d batteries.
Any suggestions? What leds should i buy?

How should i connect It?

if u have rechargeable 6Ds..just get an UCL and alu reflector and make a ROP

how old?

a lot of LED heatsinks are available if you wanted to go that route.

SSC P7 mod would be pretty easy, or the latest options are the SST-50 or -90 mods.

Do you want multiple levels, or just on and off?

i am new and i dont know what is ulc???, the mag lite is 6 years old.

So what should i buy and where?

Can i put 6 D batteries and connect them to the that led?

First off, welcome to CPF!

I'll recommend you do some research within the Homemade & Modified light forum, there are MANY threads for modding M@G lights. In fact you'll most likely be overwhelmed w/ info once you start reading. M@G hosts can support LED or incandescent mods and a 6D can be the basis of some insane "hot-wire" [thats flashaholic for incandescent] lights.

ROP = Roar of the Pelican; a simple upgrade using a better output Pelican incan bulb. Check the Incandescent forum for more info on ROPs. Keep reading and enjoy!

What they said^..and the UCL lens is basically just a glass lens that won't melt as your stock plastic lens if you do go the hotwire route,the ROP(pelican big D rechargeable bulb) will probably melt your stock plastic reflector and lens due to the heat. just search ROP..
