I have a few Energizer DoubleBarrel 4AA flashlights that I'd like to convert to 6V for LED mods.

My question is how do you get the positive battery contact out (attached to the spring on one side) so that you can remove the insulator around the contact so that the negative end of the battery can then make contact?

I'm looking at the new style DoubleBarrels that have the single endcap style.

Thanks in advance, Mike

After you take off the bezel, and take out the white switch assembly. You should see the two positive contact springs, they just tip out. If not, undo the screw in the middle and the aluminum body can be detached.

Hope it helps.

Just cut it off,I followed the directions on Quickbeam website and it worked fine.

I might be being a little dense here, but I still don't get it. The positive spring contacts I'm talking about are inside the battery compartment in the new style DoubleBarrel.

After removing the white switch assembly from the bezel side it looks like the springs are riveted in.

There are two screws that secure the aluminum handle to the plastic part, but after they are removed you still have the rubber pieces on the outside of the light that are holding the two parts together. Has anybody taken those off?

Thanks, Mike
