I just got my DBS V3 -3SD with R2 WH bin so I decided to test the monster out. I don't have the best camera for this kind of job but oh well :D.

As you can see all of these images are very blurry cuz I don't have a tripod. In real life the beamshots are much brighter. I would be able to differenciate between a man and a woman at 270m distance.

Are those bright white blocks reflective signs?

Thanks for the beamshots. Try to get some still shots...maybe set your camera on a 4ft step ladder or something.

what are those ? road signs? if so, they are not the most ideal targets. Their reflective glitter-paint over exposes the image, not giving an accurate rendition. I have used my lights to brightly illuminate road signs 350-400 yards away, and while it is impressive its no where near an accurate representation of how far the light is usefully throwing. I can reflect light brightly off the signs at really far distances350++ yards, yet nothing near them is usefully illuminated.

I place a small table top tripod on a folding step stool for my shots. You also need to use your cameras fixed ISO setting, that way its not auto-equalizing light differences.
