DealExtreme SSC P4 LED drop-in for Surefire C/P-series

Great review, though there is one mistake.

They P60L and the DX drop-in both use the Seoul P4 LED and not the Cree XR-E ones.

One more :D:

As you can see the Cree is a tremendously powerful drop-in with a well focused beam.

Great review and photos, KevinL. That SSC produces such a beautiful beam. How can you not resist the fun of white wall hunting.

I used to like white wall hunting, but not anymore.

I'm getting old, and it's not fun anymore to get up at the crack of dawn and sit in a cold wet white wall hunting blind. And even if you get to shoot one, you have to go through all the trouble of removing the spackling and dragging it back to the truck and loading it up, and etc.

No thanks. You can have it.

Toshi

Check it out....

I like these, I ended up buying 3. A friend of mine liked them so much he bought half a dozen. :D

I received one of these last night from DX, and initial impression was.....it didn't fire up.
Tried different cells, no luck.
Took it apart to see whats going on,...hmmm
Switched out the retaining spring with another I have and BOOM!!...another fantastic SSC beam.

I must add, I like Dereelight P60s' for their quality and upgrade'ability.
The DX SSC P60 drop has great usability and quality of beam, this is one super 'bang for the buck' drop-in.

:D:D:D:D:D ~ 5 smilies

Thanks for pointing out the mistakes in the review.. I keep mixing up the Cree and SSC P4 LEDs. The problem is my proof reader works for peanuts (.. me..) :D

White wall hunting is fun. Just gut it in the field and slap it on the fire and grill right there and then so no hassle of bringing it back home ;)

I picked one up when they first came out and ran it in a surefire C2 for almost a year before switching to a malkoff. I was very impressed from the first time I fired it up till the last and now its still used daily in my dads 6P.

some photos as i received mine today :D
the beam tint on mine is a nice warm tint ( cooler with slight vanilla on it :twothumbs )

Yep, mine is the slightest warm tint, a super all'round beam!!

~ Do I see CL1H v3 w/ an SSC...:D

It doesn't appear this would work with a 9P SF. Am I wrong?

I've got one of those that needs a drop-in with a Cree or SSC, would appreciate a suggestion.
