Dereelight CL1H replacement pill

I have a Dereelight CL1H V4 torch which I have had for a few years, it has had little use and the brightness has considerably dimmed even with a newly charged battery. I have purchased a new battery in case it was a battery issue but I have the same issue so I believe that the pill has become faulty.

The writing on the side of the pill is - 1 SM XP-G R5. Input:3.4 - 16v
The writing on the top of the pill is - CREE +

I have tried to contact Dereelight with no joy and have found, as some of you have also, that their website is less than optimal!

I am a Paramedic and use the light for work, the throw of the beam is useful and the ability to choose different power levels would also be useful.

My question is would it be possible to replace the pill with something from another brand and what would you recommend to save me having to buy a whole new torch?

Welcome to CPF!

I'v done alot with Dereelight pills over the years, unfortunately that exact pill size is getting harder to find.
Your best bet is to get a new drop-in, the cost won't be that much more.
