I've been able to find answers to most of the questions I asked in my previous (unanswered) thread. Still, one eludes me: do the Dewalt laser-enhancement goggles block IR light?
no. even most laser goggles will not block ir light.
you need special lenses for visible and ir light. they block a significant portion of visible light transmission, and do now work well as laser goggles.
the only sub 300 visible and ir that I know is the the surplus blps kits with the dark brown 3 laser protection.
I'd like to point out that the wavelength is the issue here, not if the radiation is visible or IR --- Co2 lasers produse IR in the high-end of hte spectrum and are blocked by plexiglass! while 808nm is almost visible light and requires special filters. It would help to say what wavelength you're trying to block.
