I had a very active thread here with a "poll" on it that was moved to manufacturer's announcements by a moderator. In that category, it is not getting nearly the read rate or interst. My question is this. If cpf members are very actively reading and participating in a thread without any complaints, doesn't that prove by participation that the thread was placed properly to begin with. And thus, by moving the thread, did the moderator do a disservice to CPF members? Afterall, if the thread isn't of interest, it quickly dissapears from the most recently read threads by desgin of this site. I'm not trying to pick any fights here, just some food for thought.

I agree. But at this point people are probably starting to think I'm one of your paid stooges. I'm just a guy who was late to the EternaLight party and realizes what he's been missing.

Gotta give credit to our moderators, though. It's not always easy to decide what's right.

RonM - if you knew us, you'd know we can't afford paid stooges! But, I simply think this adjustment in philosophy would make the moderators jobs easier and CPF members happier.
Thanks.

the topic was unique, and didn't fit well in any forum.
it was decided that it fit better in the manufacturers forum, so it was moved there.
moderator action is not up for discussion.

Hmm. Well, now you went and upset me.

Most emphatically, NO. We have different forums for a reason. If I have a question about CPF gear, would it be best for me to post it in the LED forum because more people read that? Nope. We have a place for those threads. Just like we have a place for manufacturer's announcements.

I'll also add that posting THIS thread in the LED forum is unexcusable. We have a forum for questions, and I hope you will utilize it next time. Better yet, take it up privately with the Administrator who moved your thread - me. There will be no public debate about Amin or Mod actions.

The disservice was done when the thread was originally posted incorrectly.

If the thread isn't of interest, then it *should* fall off the most recent page. If you want interest in your thread, post something interesting. Do NOT post it in the wrong forum.

"Adjustment in philosophy?" You mean a plan where members are allowed to post in the forum that gets the most traffic regardless of subject? Does that REALLY sound like a good plan to anybody?

I usually don't get this riled, but you did push one of my few buttons. You can feel free to question my actions all you want. I'm not perfect by a long shot. But this isn't the place or the forum for what you are doing. My private email address is included in every post I make on this forum. If you have a problem with any of my actions, that's where to reach me. NOT here, and not asking for public discussion.

As there will be no public debate on this, this thread is locked.
