I have been looking at the two lights for a while just to see what they were like. They seem the same. Are they? Is it like Pila and Wolf-Eyes? same design but different distributor? The X-11 costs more so I would expect it to be better in some way. HA III perhaps? They even both say what wattage the light has on the pocket clip. Here is the link.

Actually, looks like the X-11 only a Luxeon I. The Quantum III is a Luxeon III. So actually you need to be comparing the $64 X-11 to the $33 Quantum I.

All marketing. They are the same lights. Look at the lines just behind the bezel. Look at the design of the clip and how it mounts. There's just no reason they would copy such a low-priced light when it's just as easy to buy them, rebrand them and sell them at a higher price.

Which is exactly what they're doing.

ahh i see now.... thanks for the info!

Well, here's the X-11 as pictured on the glowbug website:

Here's the Quantum I as pictured on the advancedmart website:

Looking at these two pictures, they are obviously the same light. Look at the knurling, the lines on the bezel, the lines at the other end, the design of the clip and how it attaches.

Now, on the ph-import website, the knurling on the body is different but it is still similar enough that I believe it is just a different revision or possibly they sold enough of the rebranded Nuwai lights that they ordered slightly different bodies.

Well, with three versions of the same model, I'd be afraid to order one for fear of getting the version I wasn't expecting. I'm sure most websites have a disclaimer have a reference to 'subject to change without notice' or some such.

Exactly my point cratz2...Hopefully I can get one off someone on CPF. So if anyone has one let me know /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

dpled, the globetrotter x-11 has been sold for some time now. Actually, there where some accusations of it being a copy of the first arc-ls design. The newer x-11 certainly seems similar to the nuwai-lights, but who knows what's inside?
Ph-import.com has a wide range of new led-wave lights, including some surefire-resembling incan-versions. (they even work with surefire LA's) Maybe they bought the housings from the same source nuwai has and put their own electronics inside?

That clip does look a little more stout.

I prefer the cross hatched knurling version of the Nuwai QIII. Is the the cross hatched knurled version packaged as an OMBU X-11 or a Nuwai? Are they sold in the U.S. or only in Europe?
