i found an old kodak camera in the closet recently, and the battery pack it uses is a li-ion 3.7v. it looks to be the same size as 2xAA placed side by side. so i tried using 2xAA alkalines, and it works!
so im wondering if their are any digital camera out there that can use cr123 primaries? ive tried looking it up, but specs are never given about the battery in general. cameras using primary cr123a seems to have gone the way of the dinosaurs, so i dont want an old camera, since technology for digital cameras have made advancements.
but if the rechargeable battery pack is made up of 1 or 2 16430 sized cells, then using primaries in a pinch might work, in theory, sort of. :laughing:
should i just go to electronic superstores, and check out the battery packs of the cameras on display?
there have been too many times when my camera battery dies, leaving me with an expensive paperweight, and no way of charging the battery until much later on.
i would like to standardize on cr123 on trips such as those to keep weight down.
