Hi all,

(Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place)

I'm starting a DIY drop in project right now (triple XP-G). I would like to make everything myself including the driver if I can. And immediately I ran in to a problem.

I realized that even if I can measure the internals of my L2P and manufacture the drop in to fit with the tightest of tolerances the drop in might not fit other P60/D26 standard hosts.

Hence comes the question:

Does anyone know the exact dimensions and geometry of the P60/D26 drop in standard?

I looked around the forum, found some numbers, but they were all measurements, not exact data.

So, can anyone please help?

Thanks,

Pli.

This is a good question, should be a sticky and maybe with dimensions of a bunch of other stuff

I know we've covered this in the Machining section. I myself asked when I was designing my main light a couple years ago.

That said, since the original poster hasn't been on this forum for over 5 years, we'll never know what he was planning.

This was a sticky at some point. The old threads should be findable. I posted P60 drop in dimensions myself years ago.

I know it's an old thread, but I did post these (somewhat-related) sketches of mine a while back and some folks continue to find them useful:

(They are average measurements taken from a few of my Surefire hosts; I did have access to good measuring equipment in a well-equipped machine shop at the time so I am confident as to their accuracy.)

With regards to this thread becoming a 'sticky', I see that there is only one sticky currently in this subforum so there is certainly room for a few more.

If there are enough 'votes' for this thread I would be happy to do so for this one, please reply in-thread instead of PM's, thanks.

Best regards,
