Direct driving a SSCP4 from a 3.7v CR123

Hi,

I've tried to search this but didn't find anything at all

Just wanted to know if it's possible to direct drive a SSCP4 using a single rechargable 3.7v CR123 cell. If so what kind of current/output (U-bin) would I be expecting to get?

I'm a little worried that a freshly charged cell being 4.2v would damage the LED.

Yes, it's safe. If you DD off a single 18650 cell and pull almost 1amp, I am sure you will be safe with an RCR123.
