Do the Vout(-) and Vin(-) on driver boards share grounding?

I'm wondering if I can just solder the (-) tab on the emitter to the brass pill instead of running 2 wires back to the board.

That would depend on the specific driver you are using. I recently used a MaxFlex2 board on wich the LED- and Ground are the same. However, I'm sure not all drivers are this way. Try to consult any documentation you can find, or post more information on the driver and see if any CPF users can help.

On moust of DX boards (+) is the same

Do you have an ohm meter?

That depends on the driver. For most boost drivers they usually are. For buck boost, and buck they may not be.

Ahhh, thanks. Well I broke out the multi-meter and seems like the DX 1885 has the + terminals common and the 7612, it's the - terminals.
