I want to manufacturers keep pushing the crazy "high/turbo/burst" modes so that I have more reasonable, useful medium modes.

+1

MHanlen, for instance, measured the following runtimes on the neutral-white Convoy L6.

ModeLumensRuntime
Turbo32781.5 hr.
High13074 hr. 55 min.
Medium168MHanen did not have time for a runtime test.
Low22Well, are you gonna wait around for the batteries to die?

It's pretty cool. A real 1300 lumens for almost 5 hours.

That translates into a very long-running 168-lumen Medium, and a nearly limitless 22-lumen Low.

I use a 3000 lumen Milwaukee floodlight at work on a daily basis to light up my area while I wire up 2x4 l.e.d. lights. Doing electrical work, I'm often wiring up lights so obviously, there is no light in the area. Saw today that someone had a brighter worklight than me. Did you know Milwaukee now has a 4400 lumen lantern? http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Radius-LED-Compact-Site-Light-2145-20/207041808
Might be too bright for camping, but as a temp. power light in a large building, it's not too bright.
