Darn, I was going to post a thread sharing with everyone my experience with my latest acquisition of the Lunasol 20. You beat me to it Yaesumofo. Anyway, I'll just piggyback on your thread.
Well, a few weeks ago, I was inquiring from McGizmo's fan whether I should buy a
McLux-Ti-PD-S. Through many helpful postings, suggestions, and PMs, I finally picked one up from the BST ... not a Ti-PD-S, but a Lunasol 20. It was my first McGizmo light, and I absolutely love it. I've been EDCing it nearly everyday (I EDCed something else for a day or two). I love Don's light so much that I couldn't help myself and picked up a McLux-Ti-XR19 ... I won't be picking up another McGizmo light for awhile.
Anyway, to help understand my usage of the LS20, I'll describe a little bit about my job. I do computer investigations, and ofentimes I'll be opening the suspects computers/laptops to extract the hard drives. I also go behind servers, get under the suspect's desk and disconnect and label wires and cables. For the past couple of weeks, I've been using my LS20's low flood light to help me illuminate these areas. I haven't used the high beam that frequently, but I used it a couple of times to trace some wires behind the server. The tint of the light (on both low/high) is leaning a little towards the blue side, but I don't even notice unless I'm comparing it with another light or doing white-wall hunting.
Several of my collegues have seen my LS20 and were fascinated by it. It's ironic that they consider it the brightest flashlights they've seen. I guess I would think so too, since our lab is stocked with AA and AAA mini maglites with standard incan bulbs.
Here's a photo of my LS20:
Hey guys do you have a Lunasol? How many?
Which ones? Why?
I have 2 of each.
One backup set one EDC set (which are getting carried and used every day).
I prefer the beam (s) on the Lunasol 27. I use the Lunasol 20 much more than the Lunasol 27 for some reason (maybe it is more handy?
Hell I don't know.
I like 'em a lot though. The Lunasol system/concept rocks.
