I was wondering if anyone Makes mods for the E1e.
I'm not interested in the kl1 only because it only adds one more lumen to the output 16 vs. 15.
Since i have absolutely no experience with mods i would prefer something that i can just buy a modified bezel or that i can send in my own bezel to be modified.

You can get a battery tube for the E series lights.
This would let you use your E1e with two batteries.
You could then run the MN02 or MN03 lamp's or get the mod bezel that runs the high output P lamp.
Also with being able to run two cells you could get the E2c adapter (same guy that make the battery tube make the E2c) and then run a number of differant bezels.

What kind of mod are you thinking of? Do you want throw, do you want an eye scorcher? Your options are limited with a 1 cell (123) light because of limited power from the battery. One of your options with a KL1 is to use a high dome for longer throw. My stock KL1 is no competition for the Arc LSH-P. However my KL1 modded with a high dome (R2H from Wayne) is almost an eye scorcher with some throw.

If you're looking for incandescent mods, I don't know of any. These days, you can get about 30 lumens from a 1W LED with the right bin. Just doesn't seem to make sense to use incandescent for anything below that. If you don't have an Arc LSH-P, you really need to get one of those too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm not familiar with the R2H but it sounds like what i'm looking for.
I'll try to find some info on that.
adding the extention tube and runing a p61 sounds interesting, so there is a new option to consider.
thanks for the imput

Like Roth said. Instead of getting an extension tube, why not just go buy an E2e or even an L4 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif An L4 I believe produces in excess of 60 Lumens, stays in regulation for about an hour. It has more than enough light for the usual tasks that require a flashlight. If you really want the P61, you need to get an E2+ mod by nascar, but you also need an E2 style body for that. Or you can go get a C2 or M2 which can run a stock P61 lamp. Ok, I just told you to go get an Arc LSH-P, E2e, L4, C2 or M2, and nascar's E2+ bezel mod. I know I'm missing something else...

You need more lights! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

well, i didn't suggest anything of the sort cm...but i suppose i could... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

i see you like my sigline though /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif (i kind of stole it from my good pal frodo...)

cool, as far as your e1e, a kl1 would be your best bet. if you can get someone like cm to mod it to use a high-bin luxeon, you can get in excess of 40lumens, depending on the led.

Roth--what I meant to say was "Like Roth said, go not to the flashaholics..." Yeah, it's one of my favorite 'cause it's the absolute truth. Just wish *I* was the one that stole it from your good pal /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif so I can take the credit.

This is my E1 mod with a BB400 + Q2, orginally I used the stock reflector which gave a nice beam similar to the stock lamp, but has no throw. So, I decided to stuff an NX-05 optic into the bezel. Now it's just another BB400+Q2+NX05 mod, but in an unsuspecting normal looking E1 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Just purchased an E1e with modified bezel (McGizmo put a cyan SE LS/BB500 in it) from Carpe Diem last month. It's THE BRIGHTEST front jeans pocket-sized light I have the pleasure of owning.

Hello,

I have done quite a few mods using SE 1W's and the existing reflector in the E(x)e heads. Assuring that a good ground path was provided was always a PITA. Now with the new "Ecans" that Dat2zip will be selling, these mods will be easier to do. One will also be able to bore out the head and use an optic instead of the reflector if they want.

As soon as Wayne has the new DownBoys with an anode contact on the back side of the PCB, I plan to build some red LED mods that should work on a single 123 from the E1 on up to 15 volts of batery power provided by who knows what combos of UBH's and battery extensions! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
