Hey Gang, I looking at the Nitecore D20 and the Olight T20
I would like to get the Nitecore due to the 2AA format. I would like to own at least one AA light. How ever I want it to at least out perform my P2D CE
Later in the year I am going to buy a thrower. I am going to either get the Olight M20, or the Fenix TK10 or 11. I may even get the Eagletac.
Anyway, if the Nitecore does not have a better outside usability then my P2D. I may just go ahead and get another CR123 and just buy a Rayovac AA
I love the look of the Nitecore and with the coupon I think that 54.75 is a good price. I have found a ton of reviews where most people do not like the light. I love the look, and I want to own a Nitecore with the Piston drive system. I have a P2D and the body is actually too small for my gorilla hands. So the smaller nitecores I am not sure if I would like or not.
It really seems like the D20 is what I am looking for at this moment. But if it can not out perform my P2D, then I will scrap the AA thoguth and get the Olight T20.
So, I guess what I am saying is does anyone have any Outdoor beam shots of the Nitecore P20, or any non white wall inside shots. All I can find are the white wall shots.
Thanks everyone

No one? I know I cannot find any videos of this light in a real situation. So do the rest of the Nitecore have a lot of the same problems that the D20 has?
Well, thanks for looking and if someone has any shots of this light non-white wall shots I would really be greatful.

Alright, I guess then no one has any pics of this light in action. I may have to just order it to see what it is like then resell it.

there are pics somewhere. i remeber seeing them. someone compared the d20 against either the l2d or the ld20 lemme see if i can find it for you

I just ordered mine at that price......should receive it this week I hope! I'll let you know how it works outside. People I speak with say its very bright but I will see. I had the Olight T20m and it was a nice light but like you I wanted a AA platform light.

Cool, thank you both for your feed back. I have searched high and low for some outside shots of the Nitecore and have found nothing. I love my Fenix P2D and it is my main light. But I have huge hands and wanted something bigger. I keep going back and forth on the the CR123 vs. AA. I swing by lowes about once a week anyway, so I have just gotten into the habit of buying a two pack of SF cr123 when I am there. So, I get new batts every week. But I really like the looks and the piston design of the Nitecore. I was just wanting to a buy a light that would be brighter outside then my P2D-CE. I may try to get both, I was looking at Eagletac as well, but I may just forget them all together.
Thank you for your insight. I will let everyone know what I choose to go with.

If I can track mine down today I'll try to get some shots against a few other well known lights. I have not seen it in a few months though as my daughter took off with it.

Have you considered ordering online from SF? Think the prices may be more competitive that way.

Also, i think that 1xRCR123 (3.6 to 3.7 volts) would outperform 2xAA (3 volts) please correct me if i am wrong here. But a primary CR123 would be about the same as 2 x AAs.

Seeing as how you already get Cr123s, why not just get a 2xCr123 light?? There are loads of choices out there, think a P3D or PD30 would suit you.

Cool, thank you, I will look forward to the shots if you are able to do it.
Thanks!!!

It is cheaper to get the batteries from Lowes. I have looked into it. I have a ton of the CR123 batteries already. Since I have to go to Lowes every week anyway. I lust pick up a pack, some times if I go ahead and buy all that they have. Lowes charges $4.80 for a pack of two. The no shipping price is nice as well.
I was thinking of ordering either Streamlight Cr123's or ordering the Battery Station USA made CR123's but, I am at Lowes about once a week anyway, so I just buy a pack or two, or three, LOL.
As far as buying the 2AA format, I do not have a 2AA format yet. So, that is why I was wanting the Nitecore. However, I base alot of stuff off of my P2D. I try to get things that are at least the same level of brightness or more. I know the my P2D is 130 lumens the Nitecore claims 180 but I have never seen an outside beam shot or a inside house shot other then whitewalls.
The next format I will be buying will be a 2Xcr123 format. I am looking at several differnt models. I am trying to just get a small collection of different battery formats.
Thank you for the info

S'why I save my Surefires for emergency and tactical use only. :D

I'm looking at a Fenix TK20 as a daily use.

Sorry to go-off topic but what coupon are you refering to ?
Is it the Christmas/new years eve 4sevens coupon ?

I'm interested if this light is available at such a nice price somewhere

Why not compare apples to apples? The Olight T25 uses 2AAs, like the D20. Very different lights though. Did you see Selfbuilt's AA roundup review?

I too am interested in learning more about each.

Oh, sorry no I am not comparing them. I am going to buy one this week. I want the D20. But I could not find any action shots of this light. I found several pics and videos on the Olight. I was not comparing the two. I just found two models that I liked and I was going to buy one this week. I wanted the Nitecore. But I wanted to at least see some outside pics. I could not find any pics so I decided to drop that idea and pursue the Olight just because I was able to find pics and vids of it.
I am not comparing AA lights to CR123s at all. I prefer CR123s. I however want to own some more formats. I also want to own a few lights that use the 16580 battery. Again with that format I will buy one judged on different photos and vids that I can find. I very rarely just buy something without somekind of investingation. My next light will be a 2XCR123 format and it will probally be the Olight T20.
Sorry if I made it sound like I was trying to compare the two lights. I was just trying to find out if the D20 as anywhere near or hopefully brighter then my P2D-CE. I know it claims more lumens. But, I read that it was not a very brite light for anything other then going potty in the middle of the night. I have read as many reviews that I could find on it within this forum and on the EDC forum and on the British Blades Forum. Unforachanlty I am still learnign all of this lingo and after looking at it for awhile and trying to research the writing start to compare to me asking my wife to read one of my Cisco Programming manuals.
Thank you for yoru help, and again I am sorry if I made it sound as if I was trying to compare a AA to CR123.:lolsign:
