We celebrated xmas today due to family schedules and I got a Dorcy Cool Blue. I had been ogling it at Sears a few weeks a go and my wife grabbed me one. I know this light has been reviewed here already so I won't go into it too much. The main thing I noticed is that there is a large circle of good light in addition to the focused spot everyone talks about. I was expecting a laser-like beam but was pleasantly surprised when it lit up a room. Its not the brightest flashlight but for the price of it (which includes batteries) its a cool deal.

I agree. I have one of the various clones of this light. It is a very under-rated light. The narrow spot is created by the reflector only from the side light of the LED. All of the forward light from the LED goes into the spill light zone. Just like an incandescent flashlight. And battery life from the 4AAs is phenomenal.

It doesn't deserve it's "narrow" reputation. The PALight, for example, is a truly narrow light.

I think it's the best budget priced, long lasting LED lights you can get.

Hey, if you're happy with it...that's all that counts.

Merry Christmas!
