a way back i emailed them.and at that time they said around jan there may be a dorcy lux.anyone heard any thing else about it?

Wouldn't surprise me if PhotonBoy gets his wish.

Since these are being marketed toward the general public, lower quality and lower cost.

I would imagine most uninformed purchasers won't shop around for 123's and would resist buying anything that uses a funny battery.

But, seems to me I did hear someone say that Costco is now carrying 123's since they carry a few 123 powered lights. The luxeon flashlight market may have started a crack in Duracells days of selling $8, 123 cells. I could be wrong, time of course will tell.

Wow! Costco's near us don't carry them, yet. Although they do carry the Dorcy Spyers. I'll just keep an eye out for them. So, GregR, I wonder what price Costco would have them. And would they be Kirkland Signatures [Costco's Brand]?

Hey, anyone heard anything new about this?

About to embark on a 1AA Dorcy Luxeon mod, soon. But would be interested in a Dorcy Luxeon OEM. Just been to their site and found no references to a Dorcy Luxeon. Anyone have any inside connections?

TIA!

this is exalent news. do any of you guys know how many watts they will possilby be. doesnt matter cause i know that i will end up trying to get atleast one of each color.hope fully they will use good stars i hope they dont use the green /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif luxeon stars. i guess then alot of us flash aholics will end up moding them. oh and any word on the /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif m@gs /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif that use leds. lol

i emaled dorcy a few months ago he said a 1 watt luxeon real nice guy if i recall his name was mike. i hope they have not changed plans

he's Mike Reilly, the sales manager. I introduced CPF to him a while back, when I got the Dorcy lights to review for Quickbeam and Craig. He's the guy whose "mission is to bring LED lights to the masses".
Yes, they're going to have a 1-watt light, but I don't believe it will be Luxeon.....Mike said they would be coming from Korea, and I believe they will use the new "Luxeon clone" referred to in another thread. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well everyone, you all probably heard by now. Dorcy 1.2 Watt are at select Costco warehouses. One being Fresno CA.
It actually has an LS, not a UFO clone. Anxiously awaiting arrival at nearby stores... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Here's the link to the thread.

Still no hide nor hair on dorcy's site.

Danno.

The DORCY 1Watt lights (3AAA and 2AA) are definately LS and not clones.
The website should be updated late next week, and include all sorts of new LED products. Stay tuned!!

Hey, AlCanada1!
I read in the other thread about the 3AAA. They have a 2AA, too?!?!?
Now I'm really anxiously awaiting arrival at my nearby stores!

Danno

btw, you have inside info?

Danno,
Yes, there is a 2AA 1 Watt as well. Very cool light.
I distribute some DORCY product in Canada and see all the new things going on with their stuff in Europe and Japan.

AlCanada1:
As you have SOME connection with Dorcy, would you be willing to hazard a guess as to why their LED lights are so hard to find in America? We had a thread here somewhere that said sears was supposed to get them (I think) by Thanksgiving! It never happened. We CPFers have been checking wal-mart, seart, costco, & target with only minimal results. Internet availability is minimal. Care to share any wild guesses for our education or amusement?

And think they're hard to find in the US...try Scotland! I have yet to EVER actually see a Dorcy light in a store here yet. Only thing other than Energizers, Maglites and the generic cheapies, are Nuwai products in Maplin! We need a Dorcy supplier!

Sorry, but I have been travelling. Next week I will give you all US customers carrying the lights if you wish.
