My suggestions:
-It might best to number or letter each section so they're more easily found when referred to.
-The "Changing the settings" section needs the most rework, IMO. "Settings Menu" describes the general menu function in a paragraph but should probably be spelled out more clearly in point form; something like
TO ENTER THE SETTINGS MENU:
1. Ensure light is off
2. Press...
3. The light should now be flashing the sequence...
-In fact each section should be consistent like the above: initial state, button clicks required, expected intermediate/final states.
-I don't know about the flowchart idea--trying to describe the entire functionality that way could get cumbersome and I don't know the average person likes complicated diagrams like the sample. I think a table would be more concise. First column would list every function or state. Then a column of the required input for each. Other columns could list intermediate/final states. I really like absoLite's idea of using symbols, and you might even have separate symbols for single, double, five-clicks, etc. Of course there would be a legend in the table. If done carefully this would essentially allow the entire instruction manual to be summed up in one small table. After all, the only input is the button and you do *everything* by entering a predefined set of clicks!
-I too like reading additional info. Things like weight, current draw(s), type of aluminum, more LED and construction details, etc.
Well that's my 1 cent. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
