First up sorry I know this comes up all the time but i'm having trouble getting my head round it.

I am trying to drive two cree xre emitters in series from the DX 26110 driver. Its drawing from a 8aa battery and out putting ~7v. From what i understand both emitters should see 1 amp, or should 1a out put from the board be shared between the emitters?

In series the current from the driver will pass through both emitters and will be the same through both of them, while the voltage will be distributed between them. If you were driving them in parallel you'd have the same 7 volts from the driver across both but the current would be divided between them.

Thank you gentlemen, i think i was misreading my instruments last night. I was apparently getting the 10(ish) watts expected confusing arose when i calculated only 4w... :ohgeez:
