Drop in question

Hey guys long time flashlight enthusiast and never realized I had a problem. My question is I have a surefire 6P with the extension to make it a 9p incandescent light that's approx 10 or so yrs old (I can't remember when I bought it) I remember it was radically bright for the day it blew my 6d Maglight away is this a candidate for a drop in upgrade? I like my pd32ue and EA4 but it would be kinda neat to resurrect my 1st premium light thanks

Malkoff - since you have the 9P, you could use either an M91 or a M61 variant. Check out the comparison thread:

Look especialy at the "Nichia Malkoff" dropins. Seems to be highly regarded, as discussed toward the end of this thread here:

The 6P/9P remains an absolutely premier torch, with a new Malkoff drop-in :thumbsup:

... or, for hot-wire incandescent goodness, check out Lumens Factory lamps (up to 500 lumens) :devil:

(but make sure you understand the appropriate safety issues).

Thanks for the replies I'm gonna look into those mentioned, the malkoffs seem to have a big following. Here is the one that started my illness (in front) along with some of his friends. I happened across this forum by chance I never realized there were so many of us

If you would like to have multiple output levels, then Nailbender is a great option.

If you'd be happy with one level, one of the M61 219 or N (from Oveready) Malkoffs offer outstanding tint and durability. I've also got an M91AW, and it's an absolutely outstanding drop-in.

The malkoff is as bulletproof as the host. Get a 91 and fall back in love with your light.
