I decided to install two cyan 5 watt Luxeon Stars into a 5 D cell Smith & Wesson Flashlight. I am using collimators, with the custom copper collimator holders I've been making. I put a piece of invisible Scotch tape over the optics, to blend the bars out. The optics are focused perfectly, into one extremely bright beam. I tried to take a comparison shot with a 1 watt in the photo, but you cannot see the 1 watt LS!

Here is a pic:

Here is a link to a web page I made for this incredibly bright flashlight:

It's up for grabs on eBay.

I'll wager that another one of our modders will soon squeeze 3 inside a *ag *ite head... sooon... BTW Wayne, what cam are you using? Got any settings to share? Shutter speed? Aperature size? ISO sensitivity? etc..

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I have a Epson PhotoPC digital camera, 1280 X 980. I have the flash turned off, and the lens stays open longer, automatically, so I don't know what the aperture or shutter speeds are.

I just saw an ad in the paper this morning where they (Target, I think) had some turquoise anodized Maglite 3Ds. I think these would make really sharp-looking lights with cyan luxeon mods.

Even looking at the photo you can see that this torch has power! Just don't point this thing at aeroplanes or oncoming vehicles!
10W of Luxeon power... this has tgo be the world's most powerful S/S torch to date... that's until you build a 10 Luxeon SLA powered torch!
What's the battery life and have you tried this torch in real user situations?

With tiny reflectors, I bet it's possible to squeeze 3 5 watter inside.... I would have vote for 1 red, 1 green and 1 blue.....
