Like most of you I have a favourite light.Got L4,LSH/P etc etc.My favourite is my L1. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I love the feel/looks/economy of the thing. With this in mind,I'd like to keep it this way, would a PR-T dumb head be ok on this light? What's the max it would run at with the stock driver? Enough to get good light from a lux III?Would it need to be 1 watt led?(I have a Q2W HD led somewhere).
What's the cost for a reasonable bin led in a PR-T(nat HA III)dumb head?
Finally, would anyone build it for me? I wish I could do stuff like you people but my hands are too big! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif
Thanks,Phil.

PR-T dumb heads for the L1 are hard to come by. The battery contact has to be specially made, as the standard ecan used in the PR head for the standard e-series lights doesn't quite fit. I haven't seen any of these sold on the BST around here lately, so it would be hard to guess what they would be worth. Maybe $100?

The stock driver in the L1 is 350ma IIRC. As far as I know, nobody has figured out how to boost it yet. Lux III works fine with the stock driver, though. As well as or better than any one-watt luxeon.

Phil,
My first coupling of a PR-T to the L1 was with a dumb head and it worked fine. I believe the driver in the L1 is set at around 360 mA. I think either a good 1W or LuxIII work great at this current level. Although you don't have the expense of a driver in the dumb head, it does require a custom anode and cathode connection assembly which is in some ways more of a PITA and more time consuming than a standard PR-T build. If you want to pursue this, fel free to E-mail me.
