Dummy Batteries

I used to have a handheld CB that came with a dummy AA battery. It was used with alkaline batteries when you chose not to use the Nicads, in order to cut the voltage down to the same nicads would produce. Anyway, I figure someone was manufacturing the dummy batteries for them.

Is anyone aware of a source for dummy cells, particularly AA or AAA size?

Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/ do an AA dummy battery for 79p each. Do a code search for YX92. Don't know about an AAA one though.
