Hi, was curious as to which you guys preffer?(if you havent tried NiOx primaries, dont respond please). Ive heard that newer lithiums only hit around 1.6v max, and NiOx regardless of brand is supposed to be 1.7v, though its also supposed to drop off. Here's links.

Personally I've only tried duracell's powerpix, and the newer e2 lith's(which seen to be the cheapest at sams, 3 4-packs for $20, while both pana's oxyride and powerpix are significantly cheaper at thier direct sales websites).I can only tell a diff in lasers, theyre brighter, then with lithiums, but barely, and dont stay "as" bright for "as" long, though theyre comparable. I just dont have the tools to test.

I've run a test of one against the other using a regulated flashlight.

The NiOX was just a shade better than the alkalines. The E2 was much better.

On a per dollar basis, though, the E2 was far too expensive to justify the improved runtime. The NiOX also fell short on value.

For me, I will use the E2 for special situations (say when going on a trip and I don't want to bother with finding battery sources or paying local prices which are often much higher even for the alkalines and I don't know anything about the freshness of the battery supply).

Otherwise, either rechargeables or alkalines.

NiMH. NiOX barely improves on alkalines. e2 li is good but $$$$$.

Why would I even want to bother trying Oxyride batteries as a replacement for Lithium AAs?
