I'm new here and I recently bought an E2D, its a brilliant little torch.
But i want to get a brighter LED head for it, one that can just screw right on, is that possible? Ive read about the KL4 but i heard it doesn't have that much throw, i want a focused beam that will go a long way is that possible?
Any recommendations?
Thanx very much

If your strictly playing Surefire lego it would be KL1 for throw, and the KL4 for flood. There are some good mods out there that do both. If you are limited to one of those 2 I would go with the KL4.Of course you can always get an adapter and put a 6P on it with a LED drop in.
That just a start, it all goes up from there.

Thanx for the reply Bravo, I want something reasonably easy to put together that means that i can also put the original head back on again when i want to. Ive heard that the Aleph1 head can go on the e2d and it gives a good throw like a little spot light.
Any thoughts?

You con find a KL1 in black pretty easily. KL4 in black is tough to find. Also, the KL1 can be opened up and a Seoul LED and reflector swapped in to rival the KL4 for flood and beat it hands down for throw.

I'd need to get it sent over to Australia because thats where I'm from so hopefully they arent to expensive.

Maybe McGizmo has a bezel that would screw on? I think you'd be in for a good chance.

The KL4 is great for a floodlight in a room, but as you have heard, its throw isn't as strong as the stock e2d or x200a.

BTW Welcome aboard :)

the A19 head and reflector seem to be excellent throwers... it may just be the lack of sidespill....

McGizmo has his own forum, look under custom and modified in the main cpf web page.

Look under the FAQ thread, and find the e series compatible list. This should give you a start :)

Great thanx very much for the help. I read that the Aleph1 has a good amount of throw and thats LED as well isn't it?
I just cant really find anywhere i would be able to buy one of these heads?
