When I unscrewed my E2DL's assembly head I noticed the small round shiny metal piece that touches the battery has an indentation somehow from the batteries. And the first battery's metal piece that touches the head's connector has a bent. I don't tighten it excessively. Does everyone's E2DL leave these connection marks?

Mine's has a few scratches on it probably due to the fact I swap the E2DL and the E2L heads on it. But there is no dent (as in the metal part being pushed in)

On mine, the dent is only on the top of one of the batteries (SF123A) that makes contact with the head. While the E2DL head connector only has a round scratch.

Checked the top battery and the + terminal looks fine. This is the same set of batteries that have been in the light for the last 6 months. LOL

Without a photo I'm not quite sure but I know that SureFire designs the battery contacts (including spring contacts) to have a 'sharp' point, usually slightly off-centre that scratches the battery terminal to ensure high quality contact. Obviously with primary SF123A batteries this scratching is not sufficient to damage the batteries before they need replacing. It may be an issue with using aftermarket rechargeable batteries though. Some have suggested taking the sharpness off with sandpaper (or similar etc) and manually ensuring the battery terminals don't get oxidised or otherwise dirty reducing the quality of the electrical contact that can be achieved.
