Hi everyone,

It's been a while...just wondering if the z57 clickie for the E2e is better now. A few years ago, when the clickies first came out, there were lots of problems with them not clicking correctly and getting stuck or really hard to press and people had to send them to CPFers to get fixed. Did Surefire solve that problem? I have the old lights with the twisties, but thinking of upgrading. Thanks!

And since everyone loves pictures, here's my E2e w/C2 head and old-school twistie. :)

Got a new E2E about a month ago and I believe it is one of the new clickes, works fine.. Really like this light!!

Keep in mind that I don't actually own any z57's and I'm just recently back from CPF myself after a short absence so I may not be the best source :)

From what I understand SF has gone through at least 2 or 3 revisions in the z57 and the new ones should be much better. You could also just get a McClicky and put that in your z52. I've got one set up like that and it works great. I can't remember ever hearing any problems with those switches. It would be cheaper than buying a z57 too.

Hawkeye...I'm sure you'll love your E2e more and more each day. I really like the thinner body of these lights as opposed to the 1" bodies of the other Surefires.

BargainMonkey...Thanks for the info. I'll keep things in mind while I consult my financial adviser (aka. checking account).

I have a couple of recent ones, no problems to report.

I own several z57's now and have found that if they do start acting up you can open them up and take apart the plastic switch inside, use a business card and make a spacer to put in there and reassemble. Works grate.

Being mechanical in design, they do break down at some stage. For worry free/reliable operation a twisty is the right choice. However it does come with a warranty so buyers are covered on any functional issues. I've had quite a number of Z57s and so far they do not pose any functional problems.

I've had my clickie for about two years now, and it's never given me a moment's trouble. I prefer it over the twist cap for edc.

I just got my new clickie from SF today. It's definitely a big improvement over when they first came out a few years ago. Thanks everybody for your input!
