There really aren't any rechargeable options except for those 3V Li-Ions. Don't know how they get the voltage down to 3V but it's probably a linear regulator and as such will be highly inefficient. You're probably better off buying a Strion instead :D

You could stick a KL1 head on it and it will run on one or two li-ions. :)

Any idea what the best ones are and where i could buy them from?

17670 Li-Ions are probably the best (www.sabahoceanic.com for Panasonics). The R123's just don't cut it in terms of energy. They seem to be rated higher than the best 17670's but in terms of energy delivery, the 17670's cant be beat unless you're running the R123's at low discharge rates. If you want E2e brightness, the KL1 modded to 700mA will probably get you there, maybe brighter.

Thanks, any idea where the cheapest(price) ones are

I dont have to bore it out for these right?

Also can i use protected without double clicking

Thanks

There are 3V regulated R123's but I dont have any experience with them so I cant say whether they'll work without killing your bulb or not.

Wow thanks what do u recommend then

sry im a noob but whats the difference between the green and yellow?

Can somebody please help me out here other than telling me random things?

Oh ok thanks, I really only want it to be long lasting but i would rather not have it have half of the output. So do i have any other choices other than the KL1 head?
