Aloha,

I am a new member to CPF ... and feel right at home.

I spent a lot of time looking for a good sheath to EDC my E2e/Z57 and I came across one at my nearby military surplus store....just the right size and price. I looked it up on line and found their web page. Just wanted to pass this along.

Bill,
Welcome to CPF.Everyone who contributes anything is going to get a lot of enjoyment from being here and I hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do?

Raine gear is IMHO not that great. The problem is that most of their pouches use a polypropylene type of webbing material which is not particularly light fast.I also think their designs whilst simple tend to look cheap (sorry)!

Of course each to his own and for many people I'm sure that their products will be more than adequate.

My own preference for any nylon webbing is either from Maxpeditions range or from SOE. (both of these manufacturers are found using a good search engine) which whilst initially more expensive offer great designs, first rate quality and workmanship and are really lightfast. I also like the way Maxpedition gear can be orientated horizontally or vertically depending on your needs.
Take a look and let me know your thoughts?
Kind regards
Doug

Raine makes a "Universal Beeper/Pager Pouch" #0052 which fits the eternaLight series of torches perfect!

Maxpedition products = EXCELLENT!!

Doug,

Mahalo (thank you) for the info.....Being out in the middle of the ocean we don't have many choices, after checking out almost all the stores and hardware places, I was glad to find this one. I said "just the right size and price" But you are right, I dont mind spending a little more more money for quality and appearance.

I will definitley be checking out your 2 sources.....Thanks again... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif

Is the clip on the V82 mounted right at the top of the holster, or at the bottom like the V25? The problem with the V25 is that it sticks out about 1.5" over the top of the belt. I'd prefer one that doesn't stick.

Nevertheless, the V25 has no problems accomodating E-series lights, although it is a little big.

Kevin, the top of the velcroed nylon belt loop (not clip) is about 1 inch from the top of the flap (depending on what light you have in the holster) & the bottom of the loop is about 2 inches from the bottom of the holster if you can make head or tail of that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the input, it makes sense. The V25 uses a metal clip, instead of a velcro loop - I think the V21 is velcro. With the V25, the bottom end of the clip is 0.25" from the bottom.

Overall I'm very pleased with the quality of the SF holsters, and on mine, the Surefire logo and detailing is in black, you can still see it when you look, but nobody else can figure out what I'm carrying. "But why would anybody bother to carry a light?"

Believe me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad71.gif, they bother... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks Topper,

Do you know if the V82 will also hold an L4 with McGizmo's 2 stage tail cap?

While working I wear dress pants shirt & tie, so the sheath would have to be incogneto... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hahaha.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif My co workers just dont understand LOL

Yup the V21 is quick detach velcro too. I use it for my Aleph 1x123 light & the V82 for my McGizmo L1-PR-T.

Braddah Bill, yes, the V82 will fit a SF E2x/L4 body with the McE2S tailcap.

tracker870....for the deluxe light sheath, how does that little 'white light' whole work out? so any color light that is turned on in the sheath will shine out white? thanx

Actually, the material in the hole is "Blue-Green", so with my A2 with white LEDs on, it shines through the sheath hole as subdued blue-green. In the blurb, they are just stating what a white light shined though the hole will look like (color). They are not referencing using color LEDs, like red etc. But, I'll need to try that & see what it looks like anyways!

County Comm sells their brand sheaths for next to nothing, and the E2e fits well in both.

and

http://www.countycomm.com/inova%20pouch.htm

Bezel up, the E2e fits quite nicely in the X5T pouch. Bezel down, it's just a bit too tight. I EDC'd (?) the E2e using this pouch worn horizontally on my belt for a couple weeks, and it was great.

I switched to the mag pouch because it's a little bit wider, and the bezel is more well protected. Worn horizontally on my belt, it works quite well.

I carry my X5T in the CC pouch. It's fine for that since the X5T is smooth, but the E2E may wear out those "elastic" sides.
