Flashlight Enthusiast
Hi Everyone,
Up for review is the Eagletac P100C2, for those who don't know about this light,
Here are some of the specs from flashlightsNgear.com
This light was provided by FlashlightsNGear.com for review, you can buy it at their site here.
A bit of background:
The eagletac P100C2 was first introduced on 2/16/09 in this thread here.
Because eagletac was still a relatively new company at the time, this particular light didn't get as much coverage by the users of CPF, thus, this background information is shorter than normal... (well, compared to the barbolight's history which took a while to reasearch.)
here is the light:
More eagletac nice packaging. Easy to read information about the light, too.
The stock light includes the light, instruction manual, lanyard ring, orings, and the warranty card.
A view of the light itself: nice and easy to grip knurling
pic of the head with its SMO reflector and the CREE XP-E
Comparisons:
note how small the P100C2 is compared to the other 18650/123A lights available
White Wall Shots:
note how smooth the transition from hotspot to flood is

Outdoor Beamshots:

The "P" in the Eagletac P100C2 means personal..and is deserves that naming. Personal as in great for ordinary use, and very good for EDC. I see this light as similar in size and ergonomics to the malkoff MD2 host, except knurled more and skinnier.
This light has no clip, but a lanyard ring. I feel it falls short here, and the ring is too big, and shifts around, making noises. Attaching a lanyard to the ring would be a bit too awkward to use for me, personally. The bezel is not as intensely spiked as some other lights, making it less likely to wear holes in your pocket... though not SS like other eagletac flashlights.
The Eagletac P100C2 uses a Cree XP-E LED.. a very good choice as they have driven it with very good results.
The UI is very very easy to use. Tighten for turbo, loosen for low.the modes are well spaced and useful.
I normally do not mention pricing in reviews, as pricing most of the time varies widely, but I'll have to comment that this is one of the most affordable lights you can get of this caliber with such a high quality beam and output. Although, accessories are a bit more lacking than other of eagletac's products.
All in all, this is a great light for someone that wants a simple high/low on/off light with no other fancy features. If need be, a great backup light, or even a sole EDC.
