Ive had this flashlight for a few months now but havent used it that much but decided to put a new AW 18650 2600 in it earlier.

Got the new battery today and charged it up and popped it in the light but i got nothing out of it so i tried it in another light and it worked fine so the battery seems ok.

I popped the CR123's back in and now the light is really really dim on all settings even with a new set of CR123's i also noticed a burnt kinda smell coming from it,is it broke now?

Did it work fine with the old battery? Prob done this already, but first I would prob check the batteries readings, then make sure everything was clean on the light. If everything there looked good, I'd prob call the dealer. Both ET and the dealer, at least for me so far have had great support.

Yeah it worked fine prior to putting the new 18650 in,i'll contact the dealer.

Maybe the driver has burnt out. I think driver can take 6v maximum.
Make sure everything is screwed in tight. Sometimes i get a burning smell from my cheap torches.

It cannot take rcr123 x 2 as this would be 8.4v and blow the drive but you knew that, didn't you?

Take it back to where you purcahed it from to get it repaired.

Have you tried the older battery again if its still got a good charge?

I contacted my dealer this morning and he said the T20C2 has a reverse polarity protection ring so it cannot use flat top cells such as the AW 18650 2600.

I just read this in the description on the Eagletac website so maybe its stuck in the 5 lumen low mode?

5 lumen low output setting EagleTac T20C2 MKII offers a record setting of 5 lumen output that endures for 100+ hours. The EagleTac T20C2 MKII low mode is fully regulated and maintains constant brightness across the entire runtime period. Tighten and loosen the flashlight within one second (or doing the opposite) to enable the low output mode.

Have you checked to see if the switch retaining ring and the drop-in module are both tightened down, also both have reverse threads if you don't already know.

Eagletac sells their own brand of 18650s - if I ever decide to use 18650s - I would buy these.
