This weekend I noticed my Earthlink mail went away.
At 5:00 p.m. CST today I came in from work and could get a connection but my browsers wouldn't find Brock's site (my homepage), CPF or Google. CallWave, however, could ring my machine. I tried multiple times to contact Earthlink but their telephony switch would bomb to busy if you tried to talk to a human.
I disabled all protection, made a new connection to a different dial-up number and got a Zone Alarm hijack. I msconfigged ZA back into the game, re-started and got in with the new dial-up connection. I called Earthlink again and they answered. Told me they were having a nationwide outage. I told them how I got in and the rep seemed to actually appreciate the work around. Said he would let "them" know.
Anyway, if you are sending email to an Earthlink address tonight it may very well fail.
