Easy Newbie Question on Luxeons

Well, everything is easy if you know the answer....
Can anybody explain to me high dome (Lambertian?) vs. low dome (bat wing?). Why are there two flavors?
Which should I buy?
What are the advantages or each?
Which is better for flashlights?---Marc

Though there are many here who could do a better job of answering this...I'm bored. Anyway, the Lambertain gives a tighter beam. Both of them make for fine flashlights, but I think the consensus is that Lambertain are the better choice. You can use a reflector with a low dome, but from what I have gleaned around here it's not really worth the trouble.
