EC25 or EA4??

Hey everyone, im looking to purchase ether the EC25 or the EA4. there are so many lights to compare to out there but im not looking to spend a WHOLE lot. I chose these because i can use them close to an EDC and use them mostly to carry in the truck when camping or by the bed.

Im stuck on what to get. the EA4 seemed to catch my attention more simply because the candelas and meters are greater. however, for some reason only being able to use basic or rechargable AA seems to not attract me so much.

the EC25 looks really nice but the candelas are almost half and the meters are not as far.

I think the difference between cell requirement is more pressing than the difference between the stated throw figures. If you're not implementing certain cells in your portable lighting system, that's a pretty big deal, while 7500cd difference in throw would only be an issue in limited applications.

If you're looking for something with similar throw in a Nitecore product that uses 18650 cells, you might consider the SRT7.

I am new to all this and im still learning alot. BUT im not really sure what you mean by Cell requirement? what is a cell requirement?

One thing to consider for a truck light is the potential switch boot problem on the EA4. There have been several accounts of the switch boot swelling to the point of no return because of hot conditions, even when it wasn't in direct sunlight.

I have an EA4W and it is an awesome light. Great UI and very powerful. I wanted to keep it in my work truck but I've decided to keep it at home to avoid problems

the SRT7 is looking like a nice light. for a truck light though, id be worried about the police, red and blue strobe mode.but i may end up purchasing that light.

Can you not put 2 14500's and 2 14500/AA size spacers in an EA4? Maybe that doesn't work, I've never tried, but if you could it would really be nice for people who are trying to use all one battery type. If it does work I'm sure run-time would suffer, but for someone who really wanted all their lights to have the same "cell requirements" it might be a trade off worth making.

Cell requirements= what batteries a light uses.
