I recently recommended that we (my family) should get a LED flashlight for hiking at night, so my father went to Costco and bought an Eco-i-Lite Home from Capstone Industries.

Does anyone know if this flashlight is good? Has anyone else ever had experience with it?

I've never used one, but from the looks of it, it seems to be more of a backup emergency type light. If you are using it for hiking, I'd suggest something a little brighter to light up the trail. Plus it seems to use six 5mm leds. The light output will probably be towards the blue side and maybe 20 lumens or so. Costco sometimes carries some pretty decent lights, so maybe keep looking. For something inexpensive and easy to get, Wal-mart sells the 2AA Coleman Cree light for about $20 which will put out ~100 lumens on AAs. Otherwise, you could get the CPF favorite Taskforce 2C cree from lowes for ~$30 for a little more output. You might also want to check out some headlamps, as they are very useful for hiking to keep your hands free. Look in the headlamp forum for more info. Good luck!

I saw them today at samsclub as well, $25.?? for a 2pk.

does it use a 5mm or a 1w?

I think it was multiple LEDs but I might stop by later to get a few pictures with my phone.

I was flirting with a few chicks at sams so I was concentrating on the important things :D
