Hey all,

I am considering putting together an EDC incan and I noticed the different parts by fivemga. What I was thinking is a 2x18650 body the lamp assembly and bulb.

My questions are....
What the highest output bulbs for this? (I like the bulb to be at least slightly overpowered so the light is white) approx lumen and watt is helpful.
Where do I get a head and tail cap? Does the head come with the lens?
Will the head and tail from a G2 fit this?

Edit: If anyone has EDC incans that they feel are a better option I would like to hear too, I want to make the right purchase the first time this go around.

One more question. Are generic primary cells as good as name brand? I know there is a difference in quality for rechargeables, but what about primaries like off ebay and such?

Here's a good place for heads and tailcaps. Yes, since it's a 6P takeoff, it will have the lens included, and pyrex would be the preferred choice over lexan for use in conjunction with an incan lamp.

Yes, a G2 head and tailcap should fit, though I'm not sure how much I'd like the overall appearance of a metal bodied light with plastic endpieces.

As for what lamp/cell combo to use, I'd start here.

Ok I guess I didnt realize the G2 was plastic (dont have one) so scratch that. Another thing I would be open to is suggestions for other EDC incan lights, ie if you think you have better ideas.:D

A 2x18500 battery tube housing a p91 la would be super bright on li-ion and you could still use primaries in a pinch. To EDC a light this big or the bigger 18650 tube you will need a holster or a large jacket pocket.

To me, 2x18650 is too big for EDC (pocket) carry except maybe in a jacket pocket. A single cell is more to my liking.

I recently put one of FM's E2E Strion sockets in an E1E with an RCR123 - pretty bright in a small package. FM offered a 1x18500 E series body at one time, that would be even better and not much bigger.
