Hi, folks. I need another EDC and have some specific requests based on my past experience. I'm not a full-on flashaholic though I am a bit of a gearhead and have enjoyed the info I've gotten from CPF in the past. I've not been around much for a year or two and a lot has evolved.

Anyway, most of my lights are CR-123s but I would like another single-AA EDC since I use it mostly at work and feed it with work-purchased Energizers.

I still own:

a) a couple of E2Es. One on a backpack strap and the other in a car bag. I like the form factor, though I don't like the pocket clips. I tend to attach a long lanyard, like what comes with USB sticks, that have a quick disconnect. I loop the lanyard around the belt and simply disconnect the light when I remove it from my pocket. I don't care for the necessity of a holster with a EDC.

b) I still carry often a Fenix P1. Plenty of light for work purposes, but still eats CR123 rather than AA. It is one of the current EDCs.

c) I've got a couple of Fenix P3D Q5s. One is in the EDC rotation, the other lives in the gunvault next to the bed along with the Glock 17 / Glock light. Reasonable size though it could be a bit smaller for EDC.

d) A2 incan w. red LEDs. It lives mostly in the motorcycle tool bag. If I'm wearing cargo pants, it may be carried but is definitely on the big side.

e) Fenix T1 in a holster on the 5.11 Push pack strap. Great light. Hated the pocket clip. The clip is removed now.

f) Fenix p2D RB100. I loved that light. That light is the reason that all EDCs must be on a lanyard or in a holster. I lost it.

g) Surefire U2. It was fine but the head was big and the performance didn't feel like it matched the price. I sold it.

h) G2L on the Bushmaster with a ribbon switch.

j) Cabelas (GP) 6p-clone in a strap holster on the other backup. I need to get a LED drop in for this light.

k) Fenix LOD Q4 on a keychain. Good as a keychain... too small as a real edc. I *despise* the multimode, twisty only.

l) I've got a Solarforce Skyline I on the way. I couldn't resist for the price.

m) Nitecore D10 GDP+. I loved this light. Perfect size. Decent output. Well constructed. I fed it AAs from work. Downside? High pitched whining (loud!) on high output and it began draining batteries in a day just sitting in the pocket. 4Sevens took care of me and swapped it out. The replacement was a R2. It had a bit of a whine, but not as bad. It would also drain batteries occasionally but not very often (usually due to getting turned on in my pocket.:ironic:) Its UI was MUCH more stubborn to work than the previous D10. Eventually an Energizer AA leaked all over the inside and chemically stripped the interior plating from the battery piston tube. I worked my guts out to fix it but it barely responds now.

As much as I like the Nitecores and the D10, I just can't trust one again - Definitely no D10s... unlikely the heartache of another Nitecore.

All of the other lights consist of Mag LED and incans, 4-5 of those great Lowes 2-C Task Force around the house and a Woot-Energizer Swivel head in the car (UV/Blue/Red/ - Primary LED.) Thanks to CPF for the last two recommendations!!

So...

I do NOT want a pocket clip on the light.

I do NOT want a light that must twist to activate
with the exception of the E2E style switch that can still be pushed for momentary. No matter what, if it twists, it must be single mode. I find the twisty-multimode to be awkward. (Though a clicky with single twist for hi/lo is fine. Just no twisty-only with multiple modes.)

I do NOT want such an aggressive bezel that I cannot put it in a pocket. (E2D.)

Forward clicky a plus but not necessary.

Must be a single AA to feed it from work.

So, those in the know... what do I want?

I was considering an ICON Rogue but am concerned that it is going to be larger than necessary for a single AA. Not too mention the weird regulation.

Sunwayman C10A?

If the Incendio V3 was AA, I would be set.

Trust Model-1 is interesting as long as the clip is removable.

Fenix LD15? It resembles the Nitecore so much that it gives the anxiety but that is only superficial.

Finally, Jetbeam E3P and PA01.

So: Sunway C10A, Trust Model 1, Fenix LD15, JetBeam E3S or Premium, or JB PA01? I *think* they all fit my criteria. What am I missing? Recommendations from the above?

All input welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks
