Kiliminjaro the next generation? Medium Eiger like Optic as the only option.
Perhaps the Eiger was ground zero to judge what people like and dislike.
Hopefully it will have the same rebel 0100 in it- time will tell for all the new mountain series.

Where are you getting this info? I sure do want to know more.

Hey defloyd- been kind of quiet around here lately. Got the info from the RMSK site- Bob likely got it from Curt.
http://www.em-mgt.com/LED/MS.html looks like 4 more mountains coming maybe?????

The El Capitan can use standard AA batteries, NiMH batteries & Li-Ion Lithium recharable batteries. It will also be available in all three standard metals. The El Capitan uses a collimating lens assembly with a lexan window. The output is from about 195 to 750 candlepower, this depends on the power supply used. Now that's alot of power for a less than 4.0 inch & 1.90 oz flashlight.

Price does not include batteries or charger, must be purchased separately

Hmm, a collimating lens could a few things though, like the Malkoff dropins, both the wide and standard use a collimating lens, so maybe there will still be choices of wide, medium and narrow, but they will all be collimating lenses instead of reflectors. I'm dying to know what LED these will be using.

Sure with that there wasn't a candlepower figure there in the specs. While I'd prefer IS tested lumens, it'd be better to say nothing at all rather than confuse people with candlepower. Or even better... tell us what LED is being used and how much current the LED will receive from the various driver options.

Okay now that I'm done with that...
I look forward to new products. Can't wait to see what else is coming out from Peak finally.

go ahead and vent/express your frustrations or rant.....like Frank Sinatra- for better or worse-they do it their way...now please tell us how you like the RMSK website:whistle::devil:

df77- I'm guessing Rebel in the El Capitan- the new ones- your guess is as good as mine. I would think at some time they would have to trim down the number of options because the number of combonations is getting pretty dang hard to keep track of. :candle:

I'm thinking Rebel too, the power of 1AA won't be able to drive it hard enough for there to be an advantage to using the K2 like they're doing in the LEO line.

RMSK could be better, but, hey I'm just happy to see some new Peaks.

Very true...good to see new Peaks...strange they didn't use a more proven distribution channel, such as 4sevens, Lighthound, or others...

What's up MK.......good to see that some of the regulars are still hanging out in this forum.....it is a bit strange.....

Well, some of us old Peak diehards are still alive and kicking. ;)

I asked Robyn the other day about the RMSK deal, specifically about their high shipping costs. She said that the RMSK gentleman, whose name escapes me at the moment, would "work with us" on this. I hope that means some inexpensive USPS options, but I haven't tried yet.

Hey RC! Peaks are definitely one of my favorite manufacturers. :)

Austin - I hadn't checked out RMSK's shipping fees...uh oh. Is it still possible to order directly from Robyn and Curt?

MK, my understanding is that they want all orders from this point forward to go through RMSK.
That is my understanding as well.

Hey MK and AF- Bob is the guy who owns RMSK in KY. He seems nice enough- and someone ponied up some change to put the banner ad on CPF. I'm sure Curt an Robyn both have better things to do than take calls from us small money players. And a few people have prob. pissed Curt off when he has posted useful info on here-They have to do what they have to do to survive and or grow. It would be nice to see them get some big DOD contract because they make a superb product. I know when I have some extra coin- I will drop it on a PEAK light before any other.
Bob's shipping is a little pricy- but at least it is UPS tracked and you can follow the progress of the delivery.
The Li-Ion charger and light I bought were a good deal- but he has some kinks that may need working out on his shopping cart and order modification-hopefully he will move enough product to do so. Until then we will likely remain castaways on the Isle of Misfit Toys.

RC and MK,

You're right---we are a relatively small band of misfits here in Peakland. But, that's not so bad---it's a friendly little group and we help each other out along the way. :buddies:

Cheers,

Andrew

Peakland- I like that- It is nice and cozy in here with only about a half dozen of us residents posting regularly here on the Isle of misfit CPF'rs.

lol - Peakland Misfits...I can see a new logo in the works! ;)

:candle: Is there room for one more? :)

I keep thinking about selling off some Peak lights given the number of programmable gizmo lights I seem to have and yet it is hard to think of unloading them because more than anything I completely trust them to work as designed every time. All my Peaks are older generation lights - many picked up as closeouts or the like - but for a lot of purposes including emergencies they get used, particularly some of the lower powered but long runtime models.

The one thing I really wish Peak would include in the smaller lights (i.e. not the LEO lights) is a simple two stage switch. Even the L1 uses a resistor so it wouldn't be that difficult (I think some have made modified two stage Peaks).

The Pacific remains one of the better designed and most versatile lights - I can drop it on a AA body and have 12 hours of runtime - or put it on a CR2 body and double the output... really nice options.

Oh yes - forgot to mention that I have ordered a closeout light and RMSK did work with me on shipping given that UPS was nearly as costly as the light...

I suspect there will be some upgrades to the site as time goes on ... but it was always cool to talk to Curt directly to figure out what you wanted - but I realize that isn't the best business model for the small dollars they relatively make off folks like us.
