Hello to all,

I was going to start a course on here for all the
great CPF members about a month or two ago and
got caught up in doing some other things, so what
i'd like to know is if there are people who are still
interested in learning some real in-depth circuit
analysis. If you are, please yell now :-)

Here's a rought outline of how the course will
most likely progress...

1. Basic number theory -- hopefully short
2. DC circuit analysis
3. AC circuit analysis
4. Basic control theory
5. Applications: Linear regulators
6. Applications: Switching regulators

Let me know as soon as possible if you're interested.

Take care,
Al

Re: Electical Engineering Course for CPF members

I picked up everything I need to know about electricity from watching coneheads.

Re: Electical Engineering Course for CPF members

Hey Al!, my EE degree cost me five years of my life and a pile of cash. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/broke.gif Here you are trying to give the stuff away for free! Seriously, this is a very generous offer on your part. Looks like a pretty big challenge as you are trying address the needs of folks with widely varying backgrounds. If anyone here is qualified for the task, I would say it is you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif I suggest that you establish the classroom ground rules up front so that you have a mechanism for dealing with those surly students in the back of the class. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif I was always one of those in theback of the class that Doug has mentioned but I would love to "audit" your course if time and powers of cognition permit. You do scare me with number theory though! I was a math major until a simple upper division class called "introduction to algebra" blew all the seams out of my sails! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

Re: Electical Engineering Course for CPF members

Count me in. I'm very interested!

Re: Electical Engineering Course for CPF members

I'll be here, as long as the class isn't too early in the morning. I can count on one hand the number of times I made it to any class in college before 9am...

Then there was that whole thing with trying to find my astronomy final...

Perhaps this was because you didn't have a big enough/ bright enough flashlight? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Electical Engineering Course for CPF members

Yikes. I'd love to give it a go if I don't have to wear the dunce hat and sit in the corner like I did most of the way through college.

I might as well learn this, since I know everything else already. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Electical Engineering Course for CPF members

I'd be interested, too, although I don't understand how it would work. Thanks for doing this.

What should be our background to take this class?

Being a flashaholic and a gadget nut doesn't suffice?

When do we graduate?

When we can snatch the diode from your hand?
