I currently have an Elektrolumens MT-IV which has four separate P4's each with their own reflector. It puts out a great amount of light and is quite floody in nature.

I am thinking about getting the Fenix TK40, but I'm not so sure if it will be any brighter. I suspect the beam is a little more focused, which is fine.

I know not that many people will have one off these to compare to, but I would be grateful for any comments.

I don't have a comparison, but I was looking at the Elektro Lumens stuff. Like it? What is the throw like? Any heat problems?

Originally I have nothing to add to the OP.
Both 4*P4 and MCE have 4*EZ1000 dies so brightness will be similar.

But having slept on it, I have a suggestion
If you have an MT-IV you already have D batteries and charger. If you get an Elektrolumens 3D P7 all you need is extra batteries. And the batteries in the unused torch double as spares for the other. But no multimode like the TK40. This way you have a flooder and a thrower.
Hint:
If you get the 3D P7 get the DX reflector. It smooths the beam quite a bit from the stock M@g reflector. Do not crank down with the DX reflector. It will bust the LED.

If you want more brightness and do not mind flood look at the MCE-Drop-in-III or 3P7 Drop-in from Elektrolumens. With 3*P7 or 3*MCE it will be 2X brighter if you order it wired in parallel for NiMH or 3X brighter if you order it wired in series for Li-on. You will also have to specify D cell (or C cell) torch. Elektrolumens also sells it pre-installed in a 4C torch for use with 3*18650 Li-ons.

Elektrolumens is a 1 (occasionally 2) man shop with a manual (not CNC) lathe. He keeps things simple - just on-off.
As to throw it depends on what you get.
With the 3D/P7 and the 2C/1*18650 throw is as good as any P7/MCE torch. Only the aspheric lens ones throw better.
With the EDC P7/MCE and the multi-led drop-ins they are very floody.
I have not run my P7 torches long enough continuously to comment on heat problems. (MTE 5 mode/Elektrolumens EDC P7/Elektrolumens 3C P7) Just remember a M@g 3D body is huge compared to those 1*18650 torches from DX.
