I see on Amazon that they have a 4 pack of Eneloops with a Charger for about $16. The only problem I can see is that you have to charge them in pairs. I can't find the other Sanyo model that charges each battery separately.

So if I only use 1 battery at a time is it ok to wait until I discharge both batteries and then recharge?

Any charger other options for me if I want Eneloops?

I can by a Lacrosse C700 and a 4 pack of eneloops but that will push me over $40 vs $16.

Assuming you are talking about this charger:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000IV0RD6/?tag=cpf0b6-20

(I know this package is with 2 Eneloop cells for $11 and change, it is also sold with 4 cells for a $16 and change and that is the probably the one you are refering to, but the 4 cell package shows charger photos that are a little misleading. The two cell package shows a photo of the correct two cell charger.)

Aparently, the two cell Sanyo nc-mdr02nu charger can charge one cell at a time:

Here is a fairly detailed review of the Sanyo nc-mdr02nu2 two cell charger:

Oops! I am wrong...I thing you are refering to this charger:

http://us.sanyo.com/Battery-Products/4-Position-Charger-Set

Which does require that you charge two cells at a time!

Here is a link to the MC-MQN06 charger manual:

Sorry, I misunderstood you. Anyway, the charger I posted mistakenly is another option you may consider. $11 and change for a two cell charger that will charge one cell at a time, but it only comes with two eneloops.

This charger is not perfect, but it is made by Sanyo and it is sold specifically for charging Eneloops. Considering you are getting $15 worth of Eneloops with a charger thrown in for an extra dollar you would not be getting a bad deal.

It is perfectly OK to wait until you discharge both batteries and then recharge. Eneloops will come to no harm if you leave them in a discharged state for a few weeks before recharging. Just make sure you don't discharge them right down into the ground before removing them for recharging.

Mr Happy, thanks for posting the correct link.

Notice that at that amazon web page, under the main photo showing the four cell charger there are several thumbnails of other photographs. If you pause the mouse over the fourth thumbnail from the left it shows the back of a two cell Sanyo charger. That is part of what confused me.

Yeah, those are "customer images", not Amazon images. Customer images could be images of pretty much anything, given the nature of the interwebs...

as there are individual cell chargers available for just a few bucks now,
I would never ever again use one that charges in pairs.
