I was reading about the Costco packs some time ago, and I thought I would point out that a Seattle area discount store (Stupid Prices) is carrying a blue unlabeled box containing 8 2000 mah AA, 4 1000 mah AAA, and 4 each C and D adapters, along with a charger for the sum of $20, no coupon necessary.

reading the charger info, it states that it is a 4-6 hour charger for the AA batteries, at 300 mah for the AA and 150 mah for the AAA.

Seems like a slightly better deal than what I got a couple weeks ago. Two more C and D adapters.

I'm still not enthused about the charger though. But for $20, the package doesn't seem like something one could complain about...Rayovac Hybrid cells run $6 for a pack of 4 AA or AAA.

But are they Eneloops or something else? LSD AAA cells are only available up to about 800mAh capacity. If they're 1000 mAh, they're probably not low self discharge cells...

And for those of you who don't have a Costco nearby... Circuit City is selling the 8 pack of Eneloop AA's for $14.96.

The Costco near me has the same Eneloop packs that they've always had, 8xAA 2100mAH, 4xAAA 800mAH, two each C and D adapters, and overnight charger. But the current price is $19.99 due to instant $6 rebate.

Thanks for the tip, B&D; went and picked up 4 of these packs tonight and had a question....the back of the packaging has what looks like a date stamp on them reading "2006-08" or "2006-09".

Does anybody know what this signifies(?) as it appears from talking to the employees that these have been out on display for quite some time @ $28.00 ea. (wondered if CC was clearancing these out and/or if the numbers signified an impending expiration date).

Thanks for any help in advance; as I have no idea how long these are sold 'fresh' as and don't want to use them if they aren't (both packages are exactly the same as far as numbering throughout).

It's probably when the batteries were manufactured. Rechargeables usually don't have expiration dates.
